Comparing Celebrations

         

My Reflection

We have been learning to compare and contrast different celebrations.  My group researched information about the moon festival.  My group researched was the moon festival is celebrated on different days.  Something I found interesting was not many countries celebrated the moon festival.  Next we worked in another group and used a venn diagram to compare our celebrations.  Things that are the same were that we did was the venn diagram.  My next step is to put more detail and information  in the venn diagram.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

Responding to a text

My reflection

i have been learning to respond to a text using my prior knowledge and expeiace. We read a story called "Happy birthday  school " I was able to make a connection in this text when I read the story.  I found this hard because I couldn't find many information in the present.  My next step is to learn more about responding to compare it to other books.

I have been learning to add detail to my writing.  We had to imagine we were a soldier or a family member and write about this picture.  I used a conclusion to make my writing more interesting.  My next step is to use my 5 senses to add more detail.

I have been learning to  use strategies to add detail to my writing. I wrote about a moment in time  during my holiday. I used my 5 senses to add detail to my writing. I found this easy because I listened to the instructions.  My next step is to create an image in the readers mind.

Prefixes suffixes and root words

I have been learning to use my knowledge of prefixes and suffixes to read and understand  meaning of words. A prefix is a word with something in front of it like unlikely is an example.  A suffix is something that goes after it like licking is an example. I found is easy because  I knew what a prefix and a suffix was. My next step is to learn more about prefixes and suffixes.

I have been learning about decimal place value.  I found this hard because it was the first time I learnt about it.  My next step is to keep learning about this.

My Atonym Diamante poem

My Reflection

 I have been learning to write an antonym diamante poem An antonym is the opposite of a word.  A diamante poem is a poem that is shaped like a diamond.  I found this tricky because it was hard to think for a verb word for the word land.  My next step is to write another antonym diamante poem.
